2012 DT Moore Impressive at UA Combine

Tampa Hillsborough junior defensive tackle Earl Moore was a standout at the Under Armour combine in Orlando this week. The 6-2, 270 pound stalwart enjoyed his time at the combine and learned a lot. With teams all over the country in contact, Moore will have a lot to think about as he winds down his junior year of high school. The Florida Gators are hoping he thinks a lot about them.

With the combine in Orlando comes some instruction and with some of the best juniors in the nation to compete with, Earl Moore was able to learn a lot.

"It was good competition, we worked hard and I learned a lot," Moore said. "I learned different techniques, how to stay low and stuff like that."

Moore packs a punch on the field and his explosive start to every play is eye catching. That explosion got the attention of the coaches on hand.

"They liked my aggressiveness, how I am aggressive and a big strong dude," he said.

Moore says he is wide open right now in regards to recruiting. Schools from near and far have been trying to persuade him already.

"FSU, USF, South Carolina, Alabama, Oregon, Florida, a lot of schools are corresponding with me," Moore said. "I am really wide open and don't know where I am going to go yet."

The Florida Gators are one of the teams that has made an impression and recruiting coordinator Stan Drayton has made it a point to make sure that Moore knows he is wanted. Moore has taken to Drayton pretty well.

"I talked to Coach Drayton a couple of weeks before school ended," Moore said. "He's cool and a very down to earth guy, cool to be around."

Moore will have to make an effort to get to know Florida, because that has not happened yet.

"I haven't been there much, but it seems like it is a good program and coaches," he said. "They are going to show you how to get to the NFL."

Owner of 56 tackles and five sacks in his junior season, Moore says that academics will play a big part in the school he chooses as well as somewhere he feels comfortable.

"I am looking for a place that they worry about my grades and make me feel like home," he said.

Certain to be one of the top defenders in the state of Florida in 2011, Earl Moore will be one to keep an eye on.
