Gators Expecting Another Big Visit Weekend

Fresh off a productive and busy Junior Day visit weekend a week ago, the Florida Gators are expecting another big time weekend with juniors and in a couple of cases sophomore visitors. This group won't be as big in numbers, but the number of quality of prospects looks to be even a greater group. Here is a rundown of what we have heard is coming in so far and we expect more.

The state of Florida of course will be well represented and to start it off the Gators are expecting a couple of stars from Yulee, a little town north of Jacksonville and west of Fernandina Beach. Monster 2013 running back Derrick Henry (6-3, 225) is expected to be here and confirmed that with us on Friday. He will no doubt be a top target for the Florida Gators in the next recruiting cycle. His teammate, tight end Kelvin Rainey (6-3, 210) also told us Friday he will make it in and the Gators are certainly aware of his talents.

A little south and west of Gainesville are two fast rising linebackers that are quickly rising up the recruiting charts. Noor Davis (6-4, 220) of The Villages (FL) the Villages Charter School has the room to grow into a huge linebacker and bone crusher Jeremi Powell (6-2, 210) of Largo (FL) Pinellas Park will be here and is arriving Friday evening.

Heading south where the best secondary players in the world come from, cornerback Deon Bush (6-1, 180) of Miami (FL) Christopher Columbus and cornerback Tracy Howard (6-0, 180) Miramar (FL) will be in town. Howard is arriving Friday evening as well and both guys are sky rocketing up the charts among the various recruiting rankings right now.

The state of Georgia will be well represented on Saturday at Florida's. After speaking with Stone Mountain Stephenson assistant coach Corey Johnson, he plans on bringing at least 11 prospects from Stephenson to UF's Junior Day.

Four from Stephenson already have offers in running back Mike Davis (5-11, 200), defensive end Jarontay Jones (6-3, 245), linebacker Raphael Kirby (6-2. 215), and defensive tackle Jafar Mann (6-4, 280). All four were offered a little over a week ago and are exceptional athletes at their respective positions.

Stephenson is also expected to be represented by offensive linemen Nick Gibbons (6-5, 285) and Steve McKenzie (6-3, 285). Tight end Josh Parris (6-3, 240) and receiver Demarkus Sweat (6-1, 175) finish up the offensive side of the ball. On defense, linebacker Dareon Herring (6-3, 200) and defensive tackle Carlos Hood (6-4, 265) are also expected to make it.

One 2013 prospect from Stephenson is expected in as well. Center and defensive tackle Jordan Dunham (6-2, 285) is just a sophomore, but he will be one getting a lot of attention this and next year from his play on the field.

One other big time prospect from Georgia coming in is offensive tackle Quinteze Williams (6-4, 250) of Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek. He has the frame to put on some good weight and is starting to get a lot of attention from big time programs.

Tight end Justin Meredith (6-5, 220) of Anderson (SC) Hana is another big time player expected to visit this weekend. Meredith will actually be arriving Friday evening an staying for the festivities over the weekend.

There are two highly rated prospects that were expected in but we have not heard from them lately. Florida State commitment Dante Fowler (6-3, 238) of St. Pete (FL) Lakewood and offensive tackle Evan Goodman (6-4, 265) of Lakeland are wait and see at this time.
