Price Creates a Buzz at Tournament

A lot of folks that watched a lot of games in the Badger Sport 7 on 7 tournament in Tampa this weekend will tell you that the player that had the best weekend was Citra North Marion tight end Sean Price. He made one after another spectacular catches on the weekend and kept his team in games a lot with clutch plays. Price talks about the experience and his recruitment.

The Ocala area team had its share of stars and price had the best weekend of them all. They had a rough start then seemed to gel before falling just short in the semifinals of the tournament. Sean Price said he took away a lot from the tournament.

"It's nothing to hold our heads down about, even the greatest lose," he said. "We just have to work hard and get better. Sometimes losing makes you a better person. I will take something from this knowing what it will take to win a championship."

He did acknowledge that his team made good strides from a season ago.

"Last year we struggled, but our team did better this year," he said. "It lets you know we are a better team."

Price's recruitment has been heating up and he currently holds over 20 scholarship offers to play football at the highest collegiate level.

"Coaches are calling me and I am getting new offers every week," he said. "It is a great feeling and I have 20 something offers. The latest offers are from Clemson, Miami, Tennessee, and LSU."

It's early and he isn't eliminating anyone, but he has a top three and talked a little about each of them.

"My top three, the three showing the most love, are Florida Miami, and USF," he said.

USF: "It is a great environment. I have talked to the coaches and the coaches are real cool. My arms are open."

Miami: "They are telling me the same thing that USF is saying, their tight end is going and they need a tight end to step in and play. I want to play for a big time college."

Florida: "I need to go up there and get some visits in and talk more to the coaches. The last time I talked to them was to Coach Muschamp and that was a long time ago. I will go with Latroy (Pittman) this weekend (to visit)."

In the end, the school will play a significant part in his decision to pick a program.

"It is going to be about education and graduation," he said. "I want to major in Business."
