The Gators currently have commitments from running back Mike Davis and defensive tackle Jafar Mann and now add defensive end Quinteze Williams from Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek high school. Williams checks in at 6'5 and 270-pounds and informed the Gator coaches of his decision at 11:45am this morning. He is listed as an offensive linemen but Mr. Ellis Williams says the people who have played or coached the position say that is a big mistake.
"I am doing great It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I am like wow, one of my dreams coming true. At first Auburn was the school we were leaning to but we went to Florida and we knew it was going to be Florida. The difference for me as a father was who I was handing him over to. I had a great feeling for the entire staff as a whole to develop my son into a man. Florida just felt so good and we talked about it and my son loved it down there so we knew it was going to be Florida and they were giving us the most love. The only people that were saying he was an offensive tackle were the writers. All the coaches that are recruiting him all the ones that have played the position love him at defensive end. The guys that know the game of football all loved him on the defensive side of the ball with his athletic ability. The guys that have played the position all say the same thing, never offensive tackle he is a defensive end all the way."
