Jenkins Arrested Early Saturday Morning

Florida head coach Will Muschamp has a decision to make. Cornerback Janoris Jenkins was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with possession of marijuana. This is the third time in his college career that Jenkins has been arrested, and his second drug-related arrest this year.

The Florida Times-Union broke the story, reporting that a Gainesville police officer noticed Jenkins sitting in a car on 104 N. Main St. smoking a cigar shortly after midnight. Jenkins left the vehicle when he noticed the officer, but he left a burnt marijuana cigar in the center console of the vehicle, the report said.

Jenkins was arrested January 22 and charged with possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana when he was at Status Night Club in Gainesville. According to reports, he was caught in the bathroom with a clear bag of the drug. That arrest came not even a month after Jenkins announced his decision to forgo the NFL Draft and return to Florida for his senior season.

The cornerback's first arrest at Florida came in May 2009 when he was charged with resisting arrest without violence after he allegedly was involved in a fight outside a Gainesville nightclub.

Muschamp said after Jenkins' arrest in January that discipline was going to be handled inside the program. He has not yet commented on the situation.
