Pouncey Goes to the Dolphins

The dream of playing professional football came true for Mike Pouncey on Thursday night at Radio City Music Hall. The Florida center was drafted by the Miami Dolphins with the No. 15 pick of the 2011 NFL Draft. Pouncey's selection came three picks higher than his brother, Maurkice, who was taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers last year.

"I'm happy for Mike that he is getting a chance to realize a lifelong dream," Florida head coach Will Muschamp said. "I didn't coach Mike, but I've had the opportunity to meet him and you can tell that he has a passion for the game. I wish him the best of luck."

The Dolphins were rumored to be focusing in on Mike Pouncey weeks ago, and multiple mock drafts had him to Miami as days led up to the NFL Draft. Alabama running back Mark Ingram was also a possibility .

Pouncey is a safe selection that will play immediately for Miami. He is also versatile to play guard or center. He lined up at guard for the Gators during his first three seasons on campus but played center as a senior.
