Steelers Grab Another Gator

The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted a Florida offensive lineman for the second time in two years. After taking Maurkice Pouncey in the first round last year, they added former Florida offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert Friday night in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft with the No. 63 overall pick.

He joins an offensive line with two former Gators already on it. Besides Pouncey, Max Starks is also on the line.

"It's good to see another Gator selected in the Draft," Florida head coach Will Muschamp said. "Marcus is a powerful and athletic player who is going to a great organization in the Pittsburgh Steelers."

There have been three Florida offensive linemen drafted in the last two years.

Gilbert appeared in 52 games during his Florida career, including 30 starts.
