Young, Beal Trying Out for National Team

The 2011-2012 Florida basketball season will be keyed on two players that were invited to attend the Team USA 19U World Championship training camp on Thursday. Florida incoming freshman Brad Beal and Florida sophomore Patric Young were participate in the training camp that will be held June 17-24 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center to select a 12-member team.

"I know Patric and Brad are both excited about this invitation," Florida head coach Billy Donovan said. "It's a unique opportunity for a player, so it's an honor for them to be a part of this group."

Young is one of three players that played for USA Basketball's 2010 U18 team. Young was also selected for the USA Junior Select Team that won the 2010 Nike Hoop Summit.

Beal is the only player in the group that was a part of the USA17 Team that won last summer's FIBA U17 World Championship. He was also a member of the 2009 USA U16 team that won gold, as well as the 2011 USA Junior Select Team that captured a win in the Nike Hoop Summit on April 9.

The head coach will be Paul Hewitt, who was fired from Georgia Tech after the season and recently named as the head coach at George Mason.
