Bivins Makes Statement at UF Camp

With offers from some of the top schools in the country, Gainesville High School cornerback, Chris Bivins proved to the University of Florida coaches why he should be a Gator. He showed off his talents at Florida's camp. After talking to UF coaches, Bivins says he feels like "an offer is coming". While the process may be slow, he's confident that he showed them everything they wanted to see.

"It would be an honor to play for the Florida Gators and my dad would be really proud. The Florida Gators speak for itself, great school, great academics, and great athletics," said Chris Bivins.

Bivins prides himself on being a student of the game. He says most of his value lies in his character.

"I am down to earth and have a positive attitude," Bivins said.

In addition to how physical he plays on the gridiron, Bivins says he wants to learn and is capable of learning quickly.

"After camp my family and I spoke with Coach Muschamp on where I stand. He said he was impressed with what he saw and that I have the ability to play for the Florida Gators. It was something really special, I was like, wow," said Bivins.

The Gainesville native has been around the Florida football complex before and says he is comfortable with all of the Florida coaches.

"I have developed good relationships with Coach Robinson and Coach Young. The three of us talk about football, academics, life, and what it would be like if I were a Gator," Bivins said.

When asked what Gator Fans could expect from him in The Swamp Bivins responded, "they will be in the top five." With all the excitement around Gainesville, Bivins is still getting calls from other top football programs.

"Georgia and Tennessee came to my spring game and they were impressed with what they saw. Both schools want me to come up for camp," Bivins said.

Bivins is also planning on making visits to USF, Oregon, and Arkansas.

With double digit offers, Bivins is planning to announce his top five on Wednesday and hopes to have a final decision by the end of June or early July. Bivins is hoping to receive a final decision from the Gator coaching staff by the end of the week.
