4-Star MLB Lambert Taking His Time

2012 Timber Creek Regional High School middle linebacker, Quanzell Lambert is beginning to set up college visits and review all of his options. With double digit offers, Lambert has a lot of programs to choose from. Lambert says he is considering the schools that want him the most, including Nebraska, Alabama, Stanford, Rutgers, Pitt, and Florida to name a few.

Quanzell Lambert understands the level of competition and speed at the collegiate level and it is nothing he isn't ready for. Not only is Lambert excited for the new chapter in his life, but also says he is looking forward to working hard and playing with some of the best talent in the country.

"I am mentally prepared for college and everything. I am a humble guy and I want to go out and play for my coaches and my team. It is going to be fun to play at the next level, get my degree, and have an experience of a lifetime," Lambert said.

The New Jersey native says his parents don't mind him leaving for college and adds, distance will not be a factor in his decision. On the flip side, education is on the top of his list. With a 3.3 core GPA, Lambert has aspirations to become a mechanical engineer and says every school he is considering has a good program for that.

Lambert says Florida is one of his newest offers. He says he is planning on visiting Florida this fall and is looking forward to developing good relationships with the Gator coaching staff.

"Florida is a great team, they have great academics and a lot of tradition, which I like. I am looking forward to visiting Gainesville," Lambert said.

Lambert said when the Gator coaching staff extended the offer they were excited about his athletic ability and said he would fit in well with the Florida program.

Lambert says he has already developed close relationships with coaches from Alabama, Rutgers, Northwestern, Stanford, and Iowa.

Lambert broke down some of the schools that are recruiting him the hardest.

Alabama: "Alabama speaks for itself, they have great tradition, great coaches, great academics."

Rutgers: "Rutgers is definitely a great school. It is close to home which is a huge plus to my family."

Stanford: "Stanford has high education and a great football program."

Pittsburgh: "Pitt is a great school and from an engineering perspective academics are great."

Nebraska: "I like Nebraska a lot, they have a great defense and good academics as well."

Florida: "Florida has great tradition and academics. I really like the facilities and pretty much everything there."

While some of these schools may land in Lambert's top five, he is still considering his other offers. Lambert plans to narrow down his options when he completes his visits this fall.
