Bailey Working Hard This Summer

Hallandale cornerback Willie Bailey is a busy man, getting as much work done as he can in preparation for a strong senior season. The prototype 6-2, 180 pound corner with blazing speed is a big piece of Florida's 2012 recruiting class and is ideal for what the gators are looking for in a big corner. Bailey talks about his summer and what he thinks of his future school.

As a Gator commitment, the Florida coaches have to like Willie Bailey's dedication to staying in shape and prepares for the season ahead. Bailey, is working hard to have a successful senior season at Hallandale.

"I am working out a lot," Bailey said earlier in the week. "Monday through Thursday, I work with my teammates and then I do some individual training. In the morning I work on my technique from 8-12, then I work in the weight room, and then I work with the seven on seven group."

He has just one mantra for the rest of the summer.

"I am just going to work hard," he said. "I plan on coming up for football season and not sure I am going to make it to Friday Night Lights. I am doing a NIKE 7 on 7 camp this Saturday with my team."

Previously committed to Miami, Florida was able to lure him away from the Hurricanes and Bailey gave the reasons why the Florida staff likes what he brings to the table.

"They love my height and my speed," he said. I can move around well and I like to come up and tackle. I think I have the right mindset, I am always staying focused.

There seemed to be a little blip in his recruitment a couple of weeks ago when he supposedly showed up out of the blue at Florida State's camp in Tallahassee. Bailey said there was nothing that any one should worry about.

"I just went up to the Florida State camp to help some of my teammates," he said. "Florida has always been my favorite school. My favorite Gator was Joe Haden when he was there."

Bailey said to stop fretting Gator fans and be prepared for someone that will bring his lunch pail with him to Gainesville. He may also arrive earlier than expected.

"I am just going to play hard and I will be ready to ball," he said. "I am trying to enroll early, I'm working on that."
