Dunker Plans to Graduate Early

2012 5-star Florida commitment, Jessamen Dunker is gearing up for his senior season and focusing on graduating early. With hopes of starting on Florida's offensive line his freshman season; Dunker is busy taking summer school classes in order to get the ball rolling at UF in the spring. Fightin' Gators' Milani Beaudrault spoke with Dunker about his summer plans and thoughts on UF's 2012 class.

Jessamen Dunker has two priorities this summer, working out and passing his summer school classes. The 6-6, 315 pound offensive lineman out of Boynton Beach Community High School says it is important for him to enroll early at Florida and adjust to college life before the 2012 football season.

"I am focusing on working out and getting in shape for my senior season. I am also taking summer school classes so I can graduate in December and get to Florida early," Dunker said. "I want to just get a feel for college life. I know the transition is going to be hard and I want to make the adjustments early and get into the weight room to prepare for the season," Dunker added.

Dunker says he wants to finish his high school career on a high note and hopefully win a state title. But, most importantly Dunker plans to focus on improving every aspect of his game this season to prepare himself for the competition within the SEC.

"I want to work on my footwork and conditioning. I am also going to spend a lot of time this fall going over film so I can come in and get to work in the spring," Dunker said.

Dunker is excited about Florida's 2012 recruiting class and says they all share one goal, "to bring a championship back to Gainesville."

"We are looking really great and already have about 12-13 commitments. I am amazed how the new coaching staff came in and recruited as well as they did," Dunker said. "I have been talking to Latroy Pittman and Matt Jones a lot, they are very talented and I know they want to come in a work hard like I do. We talk about winning a championship at Florida and how we want to come in and work as soon as we get to Gainesville," Dunker added.

Dunker says Florida is adding the right pieces to the 2012 class and adds he hopes to add a few more.

"I've been talking to D.J. Humphries and he really likes Florida, so we'll see. But with me and him on the line we will be sure to make an impact so I am hoping he will come to Florida with me. He also wants to graduate early so we would have an extra semester to prepare for the season," Dunker said.

When asked how he describes himself as a player, Dunker responded "Very athletic, great, I am a hard worker and trying to win is my number one priority and I'm ready to bring that attitude to Gainesville."
