2011 SEC Media Days All-SEC Teams Announced

The All-SEC teams were announced from the conference's Media Days, and for the Gators, it wasn't much different from the Coaches' All-SEC teams. The story for Florida is more about the lack of representation. The Gators put four players on the media's All-SEC team that was announced Friday, while being predicted to finish third in the SEC East.

Florida didn't put a player on the First Team, and kicker Caleb Sturgis was the only player selected for the second team.

The Gators did put two players on the Third Team defense. Linebacker Jon Bostic tied with Arkansas linebacker Jerico Nelson for the final linebacker spot on any of the teams. Sophomore defensive lineman Dominque Easley tied with Arkansas defensive lineman Tenarius Wright for the last defensive lineman spot on the team.

Trey Burton was the final Florida player that was recognized, coming in as the Third Team all-purpose player.

The Gators received two votes to win the SEC Championship, finishing sixth. Alabama was the media's favorite to win the conference championship with 98 votes, ahead of LSU's 29 and Arkansas' 18. South Carolina collected 14 votes to win the conference, and Georgia got four. Ole Miss also received two votes.

South Carolina got 114 votes to win the SEC East, making the Gamecocks the media's favorite in the division. Georgia received 38 votes to win the East, while Florida got 12. Tennessee received two and Kentucky received one.
