FNL: Washington Will Be Back Soon

Class of 2013 super safety Nick Washington out of Jacksonville Trinity Christian had a blast at Friday Night Lights. The athletic defender caught the attention of the Florida coaches just like he has other places he has visited. Washington came with his father and had such a good time, he will be making a return trip in just a few days. Read on to find out more about how things went.

Nick Washington was a big fan of Florida's practice tempo at Friday Night Lights. But, he really enjoyed everything about his quick visit to Gainesville.

"It was fun," Washington said of the camp of big time prospects. "I liked the drills and position work and the one-on-one was very competitive. I liked everything… the campus is nice, the stadium is huge, and everything is very nice.

Travaris Robinson has been a big hit on the recruiting trail and Coach T-Rob made an impression that actually was reflective of the whole staff according to Washington.

"He was very energetic and all the coaches were," Washington said of Robinson and the staff. "Everything was up tempo and you have to finish the drills and everything you do. You have to run in between the drills.

Washington was singled out a little after the function and got to spend some time with head coach Will Muschamp as well. As it turns out, Washington is a great baseball player as well and Muschamp wanted to make sure he understood that Florida likes guys that can play multiple sports. Washington plans on meeting Florida baseball head coach Kevin O'Sullivan soon as well.

"I got to talk to Coach Muschamp as soon as Friday Night Lights ended," he said. "He told me he wants me to come back Tuesday and meet with Coach O'Sullivan and him again."

The baseball thing will certainly play a part in his decision on where he plays college ball. He will probably meet a few baseball coaches along the way as well.

"I play with my school and travel ball, I play right field and a little bit of middle infield," he said. "I met the South Carolina baseball coach, but still waiting to meet some of the other schools' baseball coaches. "

He grew up following the Florida Gators, but Washington has been a busy man this month visiting a lot of schools in the south.

"I have been to Florida State, South Carolina, Clemson, Alabama. Auburn, Vanderbilt, Georgia, and Georgia Tech… that is about it," he said.

Washington is enjoying the process so far and he doesn't plan on ending it any time soon. He is done with summer visits and just going to start getting ready for his football season.
