After a solid perfomance under the lights in the Swamp, Tyriq McCord solidified to the Florida coaching staff just what he can bring to the gridiron. While McCord says he is taking his time evaluating his offers, he adds Friday Night Lights was a good opportunity to learn more about the University of Florida.
"It was a great experience and I like the Florida football prgram a lot. There was a lot of talent out there and it was just fun to compete with some of the best guys in the country. Dan Quinn is a great coach and I learned a lot from him," McCord said.
While McCord had several conversations with the Florida Coaching staff during the Gators' camp, he says one conversation with Coach Lewis in particular stands out the most.
"Other schools want you to play for their school, here we NEED you to play for us," Lewis said to McCord.
McCord says he does not have any leaders at this point in the game, but adds a few programs are after him harder than others.
"Florida, USC Trojans, South Carolina, Georgia, and Miami are recruiting me the hardest at this point. I have visited all of them except Georgia and Miami but I do plan on visiting them in August. So far, I like what I'm seeing from every school," McCord said.
McCord made it clear the schools listed above are not neccesarily his top five but simply the schools who seem to want him the most. McCord also holds offers from Illinois, Mississippi, Notre Dame, Oregon, Rutgers, South Florida, and Texas Tech, to name a few.
