Blessed with size and athleticism, Humphries is a needed boost to a recruiting class of 17 prospects at a position of dire need. The numbers are low at offensive line on the Florida campus and Humphries is a prize the Gators were counting on and needed badly.
Humphries had a ceremony at his school in front of a crowd and had his little sister hand him the hat of choice.
"I am going to be a Gator," he said. "Florida is the only place that really felt like home and I felt comfortable with.
Scout.com / FOX Sports national recruiting analyst Chad Simmons is a fan of the Big lineman and mentioned this about Humphries before the start of the spring evaluation period.
"Humphries is a very athletic offensive lineman," Simmons said in an early February write up. "He does a nice job in pass protection. He really slides his feet well, he has nice balance, and he has good length."
