Gators in the NFL: Week Ten

Out of 28 former Florida players that were active on NFL teams this weekend, 19 of them started the game. David Nelson, Tim Tebow, Andre Caldwell and Major Wright were the four former Gators that found their way into the end zone.

Major Wright started at strong safety and had three tackles, two passes defended and the second interception of his career, which he returned 24 yards for a touchdown. The interception came against Detroit Lions and former Georgia quarterback Matt Stafford.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver David Nelson caught four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys. After catching the touchdown, he ran over to give the ball to his girlfriend, who is a Cowboys cheerleader.

The Pittsburgh Steelers also started Marcus Gilbert (RT), Maurkice Pouncey (C) and Max Starks (LT). Pouncey's start was the 26th consecutive regular season start for him, while Starks started his 74th career game, all of them coming with Pittsburgh.

Cooper Carlisle started at right guard for the Oakland Raiders, the 110th start of his career. Maurice Hurt received the second start of his career at left guard.

Cornerback Lito Sheppard recorded his first start of the season for Oakland, tallying five tackles and two passes defended. Defensive end Jarvis Moss also recorded a tackle for the Raiders.

Of the four former Florida players on the New England Patriots, tight end Aaron Hernandez was the only one to produce any stats. He caught four passes for 41 yards. Brandon Spikes was inactive with a knee injury, while Gerard Warren and Jermaine Cunningham didn't record a stat.

Philadelphia Eagles punter Chas Henry booted eight punts for 342 yards and a long of 52 yards. He landed four of his punts inside the 20-yard line.
