Gators in the NFL: Week Eleven

Six former Florida players found the end zone for their NFL teams this weekend. There were 25 former Gators that were active last weekend, and 17 of those started.

Tim Tebow made headlines last Thursday night when he went 9-for-20 through the air for 104 yards. He also rushed eight times for 68 yards, including the game-winning touchdown over the New York Jets. Marcus Thomas started at defensive tackle for the Broncos and recorded two tackles.

Major Wright continued to play well since becoming the starting strong safety for the Chicago Bears. He made three tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass defended and an interception, the third of his career, in a win over the San Diego Chargers.

Percy Harvin started at wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings and had six catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. Running back Adrian Peterson went down with an injury, and Harvin then had five carries for 21 yards.

Rex Grossman helped the Washington Redskins to a come from behind victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Grossman went 25-for-38 for 289 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Jabar Gaffney started at wide receiver and caught seven passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Aaron Hernandez caught four passes for 44 yards in the New England Patriots' win. Gerard Warren had two tackles and one quarterback hurry. Linebacker Brandon Spikes wasn't active because of a knee injury.

Lito Sheppard started at cornerback for the Oakland Raiders and led the team with six tackles. Sheppard also had one sack, one tackle for a loss, one quarterback hurry and one pass defended.

Riley Cooper had the best game of his career with Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin out. Cooper got his first career start and caught five passes for 75 yards and the game winning touchdown against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football.

Andre Caldwell started at wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals and had three catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. Carlos Dunlap had one quarterback hurry. Reggie Nelson started at free safety and recorded a tackle.

Joe Haden started and had four tackles and three passes defended in a win over Jacksonville. The Jaguars started defensive end Jeremy Mincey, and he recorded five tackles.

David Nelson started at wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills and caught one pass for no yards.

Mike Pouncey started at center for the Miami Dolphins. It was the tenth straight start to begin his NFL career.
