In the state of Florida, there is a new camp making some noise called the BMW Passing Camp. The camp's three main coaches are former Gator greats - Kerwin Bell, Shane Matthews and Danny Wuerffel. The camp is for quarterbacks, wide receivers, running backs and tight ends and the mission is to introduce, educate, and develop the fundamental, techniques, skills motivation & sportsmanship necessary for success at the individual skill position in football, while expanding the overall knowledge & strategy of the offensive play & defensive coverage.
The camp is held at Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala, Florida. Last summer was their first and it was a great success. 50 kids turned out with no advertising whatsoever. Next month, they are expecting a lot more.
"We hope to have 100-150," Shane Mathews told TheInsiders.com. "We (Danny, Kerwin and me) have always played the game of football and always participated in camps like this. They are always a lot of fun. This camp is fun and it's football from sun up to sun down. It's hands on with all three of us as we will all work with all the kids. We will teach all the fundamentals, reading defenses, and spend a lot of time in the classroom. All of us have learned so much football and been around some great coaches and we want to pass that along to these kids."
The camps starts on Friday June 20th and last through the 22nd. Last year, they coached players from as far away as Atlanta, Dallas and St. Louis. If you are interested in participating, the coach of a player(s) or an interested mom or dad, please click on the following link for more information -
