Florida Prospect Reacts to Loss

Ryan Green always enjoys coming to Gator games, but his most recent trip was different. In his third visit to Gainesville this season, he watched the Gators fall to the Seminoles 21-7. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound running back from St. Petersburg Catholic High School got an offer from Florida while he was visiting Gainesville for the Vanderbilt game.

While it was his third time seeing the Gators play this year, the rivalry matchup between Florida and Florida State is something Ryan Green has always wanted to witness.

"I thought it was a good game, it's a huge rivalry that I always watch on tv, so it was nice going to that game," Green said.

This season, the Swamp hasn't been consistently packed as in past seasons, but the Gators welcomed the Seminoles to a screaming, sold-out crowd. Green said he could feel the electricity.

"I love the atmosphere at the Swamp, but I think it was more intense because of the rivalry game," he said. "I think that was the loudest it's been since I've been there."

Green visited Gainesville with his dad, who he said talks to Coach Brian White fairly often. He said they feel very comfortable at Florida.

"I love the coaching staff at Florida, they always make me feel like I'm at home, especially Coach White," he said.

The junior running back has some time to make his decision, and right now he's just racking up the offers. He already has offers from Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, and Purdue, with Alabama and Tennessee showing a lot of interest. Besides Florida, he's gone to see games at both Florida State and Notre Dame.

With Fall football almost over, he plans to use the offseason to think more about his upcoming decision.

"I want to research all the schools that are showing interest, see what's the best fit for me, start narrowing down which school's I'd like to go to," Green said.

"I want to play. A lot. Depth chart and academic wise, I want to make sure those are the right fit for me."
