"It went fairly well and we were both professional," Trail told FightinGators.com about the his talk with Muschamp. "It was a positive ending and he confirmed I will be able to leave."
The redshirt freshman enjoyed his time in Gainesville and wants folks to understand it just didn't work out for him.
I want to let everyone know this is a great program and great school. The coaches are great and the student body is good but it's my time to go and it just wasn't working out for me on the field."
The loss of Trail further diminishes the numbers at defensive end. Florida will graduate senior William Green. The Gators will start the spring with only three players listed as defensive ends on the roster from this current squad. Sophomores Sharrif Floyd, Ronald Powell, and Kedric Johnson are it. Floyd played a great deal of defensive tackle Saturday against Florida State.
Safety Joshua Shaw will be moving on as well. the freshman from California also enjoyed his time at Florida but the family has decided it best if he leaves.
Shaw's mother, Venus Shaw talked with FightinGators.com and said, "We hate to leave, we will always love the Gator nation."
