Jacobs Picks Florida

Scooba (MS) East Mississippi community college defensive tackle Damien Jacobs is a wanted man. Plenty of teams are putting a huge emphasis on the defensive line and Jacobs has options but has decided to make his intentions known.

6'2 and 300-pound defensive tackle Damien Jacobs graduated from Gray (LA) H.L. Bourgeois High School. Checking in from Scooba (MS) East Mississippi Community college, Jacobs committed to Tennessee and head coach Derek Dooley shortly after his trip to Knoxville. Jacobs recently took an official visit to the University of Florida and he is glad he did.

"I'm so glad it's over," Jacobs said. "I feel like a normal person again. I feel great that it's done.

"Since the Florida visit, it has been on my mind, but it wasn't until about two or three days ago that my mind was made up. When I talked to Will Muschamp, he said that the program got better today and we didn't even play a down.

"I'm the kind of guys that's going to play hard, push my teammates around me and make everybody work harder.

"I'm so glad it's over. I'm going to have a great Christmas and just relax with my family."
