"It was real cool. Just hanging out with Michael (Taylor) and Mack (Brown). They showed me a lot of love, the took care of me," Powell said.
Powell said after this weekend, he's even more motivated to make an early impact when he steps on campus for good. He said Coach Will Muschamp told him he wishes he could have Powell on campus right now.
"They said they wanted me to stay. I didn't want to leave, I hate that I have to go home," Powell said.
"We just talked about finishing out my senior year, they're going to send me my playbook and workouts and stuff, so while I'm not there I can just go over it, learn the stuff, so I can come in and play and know something. Learning the playbook is the big key, so I'm gonna study that."
Edwardsville, Ill., defensive tackle Vincent Valentine also took his official to Florida over the weekend. Powell said the two were split up, so he didn't really get to talk to him or get a feel for what he thought of the school.
