Green Enjoys Florida Visit

The Florida Gators picked up their first commitment of the 2013 class this weekend in Adam Lane. The 5-foot-8, 210-pound bruising running back wasted no time recruiting for the Gators. At the top of his list, St. Petersburg Catholic running back Ryan Green. The two have been friends for awhile and have gone to several camps together. Green was also on campus in Gainesville this weekend.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back said it was a great visit to Florida.

"I had a good time, I saw a lot of my friends like Adam Lane, Dante Fowler, I saw (Alvin) Bailey from Armwood, Matt Jones, I had a good time," Ryan Green said.

Green said Lane was working hard on him all weekend, telling him how great it would be to see them both in orange and blue next year.

"He was saying that he wanted to be a team, he doesn't want to be by himself there, he was telling me we would be like thunder and lightning."

Thunder and lightning makes perfect sense for these two. Lane is a big, physical, bruising back, and Green has speed that is unmatched by other running back prospects in Florida.

Green said it was great to talk to Florida coaches, and it's clear that they want him.

"I talked to Coach Muschamp and Coach White and a lot of the other coaches."

"(They said) that they want me to be a Gator."

Green also spent some time with his good friend Dante Fowler Jr., a Florida State commit who took his official visit to Florida this weekend.

"Me personally, I think he's gonna decommit from Florida State and go to Florida. He won't tell me, I asked him yesterday but he said he wouldn't tell me," Green said.

At this point, Green plans to wait til next year's signing day to make a decision, but he says Florida, Miami, and Notre Dame are his early leaders.
