"I think he likes Coral Gables, Coconut Groves, the old Cracker-Florida life they have there," Chris Davis said speaking on behalf of Young. "e likes salt water fishing and that is really the place to do it."
The Georgia Bulldogs have come at Young with playing tie as the main sell and in the meantime he has really gotten to know the staff at Georgia.
I think he loves the relationship he has with the coaches," Davis said. "They are very much like he is… very country. They just have a very similar personality."
Auburn has always been high on the list for Young. They also have a great need at offensive tackle and have done a great job in getting to know the physically gifted lineman.
"With Auburn, he has a great relationship with all the coaches pretty much," Davis said. "They have been recruiting him since day one and in my opinion have been recruiting him the hardest. They have great people and made a great hire in Scott Loeffler (new offensive coordinator), a dynamic recruiter."
The Florida Gators have also been there all along. According to Davis, the Gators will be right there in the end when he goes to make a final decision.
"They were on him the earliest," he said of Florida. "Before Will Muschamp was hired, Coach Meyer came by the school just to build a relationship with me, when head coaches would come by this time of year. Avery has gotten to know Aubrey Hill very well and is comfortable with Frank Verducci. I think Florida has just as good a shot as Auburn and Georgia, I sincerely do."
Davis talked about what he believes Young is looking for most in a program.
"I think he would like to get on the field early if he can," the coach said. "I think he is also realistic as to whether or not he is ready to do that in that conference. He has to feel comfortable with getting out there when his coaches think he is ready. I think that is the thing with Avery is he needs to know who he can trust and who will prepare him to play the best."
