Analysis: Gators big weekend

Florida had a huge day in recruiting on Saturday when they landed six commitments. All are local prospects from the Sunshine State and Scout breaks them down here in this feature.

Florida's Six Commitments
Location: Saint Petersburg, Fla.
High School: Lakewood
Position: Wide Receiver
Size: 6-1/162
Scouting Report: Adams is versatile athlete with quick feet and the ability to make plays in space or get behind defenders down the field. He is a little thin now, but has the frame to add weight for the next level. He needs to work on getting off the ball against press coverage and running more crisp routes, but he is an athlete with good hands, good speed, and the ability to help UF on either side of the ball.

Location: Crestview, Fla.
High School: Crestview
Position: Outside Linebacker
Size: 6-2/218
Scouting Report: What stands out most about Lawson to me is his athleticism, length, and his ability to pursue the football. He is used mostly at defensive end now as a pass rush guy off the edge, so he will need to work on reading and reacting as he plays more off the ball on the next level. He shows good flexibility and he has the frame to add weight. He could play some as a rush end, but needs to get stronger at the point of attack.

Location: Buschnell, Fla.
High School: South Sumter
Position: Safety
Size: 6-0/204
Scouting Report: Neal is a very strong tackler and a big hitter playing back in the secondary. He mixes it up playing in and out of the box as a safety. He is best when coming downhill to attack the opponent. He will need to work on his footwork in coverage, but he has a very nice burst to the ball, and he has shown good instincts in the secondary.

Location: Daytona Beach, Fla.
High School: Mainland
Position: Outside Linebacker
Size: 6-2/225
Scouting Report: Powell plays with his hand down most of the time on the high school level, so standing up, playing off the ball, and playing more in space will be things he has to adjust to on the next level. As an end, he does a good job of getting space and getting off blocks and he plays with good pad level. Down the road, he is someone that could play outside or inside linebacker because of his size, athleticism, and style of play.

Location: Belle Glade, Fla.
High School: Glades Day School
Position: Running Back
Size: 5-10/205
Scouting Report: Taylor is build very low to the ground, he has a very strong lower-body, and he is very tough to tackle. He keeps his legs moving after contact, he moves very well laterally, and although he may not have elite speed, he has very quick feet, he hits the hole with quickness and power, and he is a very productive back. He has natural running back instincts and he has a good feel for the game when the ball is in his hands.

Location: Jacksonville, Fla.
High School: Trinity Christian Academy
Position: Safety
Size: 5-11/175
Scouting Report: Washington is a very instinctive player in the defensive backfield and his ball skills and reading quarterbacks are two of his biggest strengths. He could get a look at corner or safety at Florida, but Scout likes him more as a safety. He is solid in run support, he plays well in space, and man-to-man coverage is not one of his strongest areas. He could be a guy used in nickel coverage, but free safety is a position he could excel at.
