Moore holds a handful of offers and has the Scarlet Knights in his top three.
"Rutgers, USF and West Virginia are my top schools," Moore said. "I want to make a decision before the season."
The 6-foot-2, 204-pound Moore, who was offered by Rutgers a few weeks ago, already visited South Florida, and he is planning trips to West Virginia and Rutgers as well. He is also building a relationship with Rutgers linebackers coach Dave Cohen, and is looking forward to meeting him.
"I really have a good time talking to coach Cohen up there, and I can't wait to get up there and see the program first-hand," Moore said. "I want to go up in the spring or the summer, but it depends on how things turn out. I am definitely going to get up there by the end of the summer."
Ideally, Moore wants to visit Rutgers in the spring so he can watch a practice, but he is unsure if that will happen. In the meantime, he wants to get past the basics of his knowledge of the program and delve deeper.
"I know they have a new coaching staff now, that they're in the Big East, but I don't know much more," he said. "That's why I want to learn about the program.
"I know (Cohen) is the linebackers coach there, he's relatively new, but I am just learning about him."
Moore plans to major in either criminal justice or business, and offered majors will play a key role in his decision.
"I'm looking for a good bond with the players, early playing time and the atmosphere," he said. "I'm visiting West Virginia in the spring or summer as well, and I also want to try to get up to Ole Miss."
As a junior, Moore made 49 tackles, including two sacks, and had an interception.
