Robinson Getting Noticed

South Florida is known for it's speed in recruiting circles and one of the hottest and fastest prospects coming out of the area is Pompano Beach Ely cornerback Rashard Robinson. Robinson is a star for the South Florida Express 7on7 squad and is really starting to get noticed. The Gators want him to visit when he can.

Rashard Robinson is back at Ely after a one year hiatus at Deerfield. He says things are much better during this go around back at Ely.

"School is going great right now," Robinson said earlier in the week. "I am staying on top of my grades. It has gotten easier getting back to Ely."

Robinson is glad to be back with his former teammates and says that he has qualities that he knows will help his new / old team.

"I think I have a lot of leadership skills," he said. "When we get scored on I stay on top of my guys about forgetting about it."

He talked to the Florida coaches last week, specifically the area recruiter, Aubrey Hill.

"I talked to Coach Hill," Robinson said. "It went pretty good. He said he wanted me to come out in March for the spring game and come up and work out some time. I am going to try and do all of that."

Robinson says, "I grew up a Florida fan", but has also talked to the national champions in the last week.

"I just got a call from Alabama, they called the athletic director at Ely, so I am going to stay in touch with them too," he said. "I am also hearing from FIU.

As far as his personal strengths on the field, he says he has the mental make up to play big time ball and quite a bit of that South Florida speed we talked about.

"I think I am good at recognizing the pass or the run easily," he said. "I have great recovery speed. I am working on my jam with sliding my feet and everything. I get to be too aggressive sometimes."

Robinson says it is too early to talk know what he will base his college decision on, but we will be there to hear from him when he does.
