Falah Talks Long Distance Offer

There is no denying the need for offensive line at the University of Florida. Only signing two linemen in each of the last three seasons has the Gators very light along the front right now and a need to sign several in 2013. Florida is looking far and wide and recently offered Bellflower (CA) St John Bosco offensive tackle Nico Falah after a relationship that was established for a bit of time.

Nico Falah had actually been talking to Florida assistant coach Brian White who has been telling him that a scholarship offer would eventually come.

"He's the first and actually only coach I've talked to at Florida," Falah said of White before discussing how they eventually got to know each other. "I train with a program called B2g and the coach there Courtney Morgan knows Coach White very well and he sent him my film."

Falah is excited about an offer coming all the way from Florida and says the Florida staff really likes how he plays the game.

"Its special… being the first East Coast program to offer is big and plus they are one of the best on top of that," he said. "They say ill fit in perfect in Florida they like the big and super athletic tackles.

The offer came last week so he has had time to digest it and contemplate a move across the country.

"I have actually," he responded when asked if he thought about a move like that. "It's going to be different if I go there getting use to everything."

He also understands the difficulties of coming this far and that starts with just visiting Florida to see what the place has to offer.

"It's going to be hard to get there and there has not been much progress plane trips are pretty expensive," he said. "If worse comes to worst, I'll just wait till I am a senior and take one of my official visits there."

At 6-5 and 275 pounds, Falah says it is a lot of hard work that has given him the opportunity to play college football.

"I just work hard in the weight room and in speed training," he said. "I play a lot of basketball. I think that's why I am so athletic."

With no favorite college team, Falah appears to be pretty open to whoever calls on him. He says both the program and the school are important.

"I think overall my decision will be based on the academics and athletics," he said.
