Defensive Tackle/Defensive End
Profile 2004 - Justin Britt (DT/DE)
Justin Britt is arguably the top defensive line prospect in the state of Alabama this year, and he is one of the top players in the south overall. As a junior he played linebacker and defensive tackle for Cullman High School, and this year he will play full time defensive end. He could play either line position in college, but at 6-4.5 and 255 pounds with a 4.8 forty, he'll likely grow into a defensive tackle.
Britt helped lead Cullman to the playoffs last season, and they look to be loaded for another playoff run this season.
"We only lost about three guys on each side of the ball," said Britt. "I think we have about 16 returning starters. We should be pretty good this year."
So far, Britt has been to the LSU camp, and he has several more on the schedule. "I'm going to Alabama this Saturday. I'm going to Georgia in July, and I'm going to try and get to Florida and Florida State too."
Britt is current Alabama star Wesley Britt's younger brother, and like most, I've considered him a lean to Alabama for a long time. If that is indeed the case, Britt isn't letting on yet.
"I have to do what's right for me. I mean I like what Alabama is doing, and they are right there, but I have to make my own decision. I'll go where I feel most comfortable and to where God leads me. I've been to the LSU camp, and I loved it there. I went to Georgia's three day camp last year, and I like them a lot. Those are probably my top three schools right now, but I haven't been to either of the Florida schools yet. I like Notre Dame too; I think they were real close to offering me a scholarship. I want to win a national championship, and all of those teams are capable of playing for one."
