AC Leonard Returns to Practice

The depth at tight end for the Gators got a recent boost with the return of AC Leonard. The sophomore has been cleared to return to practice and is going through spring practice with the team.

"After a six-week suspension from team activities, A.C. Leonard has been cleared to return to practice only," Florida head coach Will Muschamp said. "He still has a lot of things to work through before his status for the fall is addressed."

The Gainesville Sun reported that Leonard was seen walking off the practice field on Wednesday with pads in his hand and talking to tight end Jordan Reed.

Leonard was originally arrested on February 15 on a charge of simple domestic battery. According to police, there was an altercation in which Leonard dragged his girlfriend out of the couple's apartment.

Leonard caught eight passes for 99 yards during his freshman season and saw increased playing time as the season came to a close. He led the Gators with three catches for 65 yards against Florida State.

Spring practice concludes on April 7 with the Orange and Blue game.
