"I loved it. It was really, really nice. I was excited," he said.
"Right now, I put them as my number one school, and we'll see how that goes when I visit Notre Dame."
Montelus visited Florida with his mother, who also was quite impressed with the school.
"My mom really liked it, she was really excited," he said.
Before the visit, Montelus said he wanted to get to know some of the coaches better and continue to develop a bond with offensive line coach Tim Davis. He was especially impressed with how excited the coaching staff was to see him.
"(I spent time with) Coach White and basically Coach Davis, and I really got closer to them and just talked most of the time, talked to Coach Muschamp and everything," Montelus said.
"(Coach Davis) was really excited to see me, we were just talking, we were bonding."
"(Coach Muschamp said) basically they want me down, they want me to commit, basically the usual."
The other big thing Montelus wanted to get out of the visit was a feel for the atmosphere of the campus and town, something he was also quite impressed by.
"(I saw) the national championships, watched a couple films, saw the stadium, I saw everything."
Next up, Montelus will check out Notre Dame with his mom, and he's looking forward to seeing South Bend.
