2014 DE Enjoys Florida Trip

This time of the year is a very exciting time for high school football players in the Sunshine State. Now that spring practice has begun, 2014 Wauchula (Fla.) Hardee defensive end Keyon Brown is looking forward to improving his skills on the field. The young defensive lineman hopes that his hard work will pay off and that he will earn a scholarship to play college football.

"We started spring practice today. Right now we are going through the learning process all over again since there are new people on the team," Keyon Brown said.

As practice continues, Brown plans to focus on improving specific aspects of his game.

"Well there is always something to work on of course. I really want to work on my speed and my lateral movement," he said.

Overall, Brown thinks that he has already improved his abilities in the past year.

"I'm definitely better than last year. Since I learned so much at the camps and combines. I would say that I'm quick off the edge and violent with my hands and can use my strength when needed to get someone off of me," he said.

Since they helped him to learn a lot, the 6-foot-3, 235-pound lineman wants to attend more camps in the future.

"I do plan on going to camps. I just don't know which ones exactly that I am going to yet," he said.

When it comes to the recruiting process, the young lineman is already hearing from a few schools.

"I get mail from a few colleges about their camps. I went to Florida's spring game and that's really about it," he said of the recruiting process.

For Brown, his visit to Florida was very enjoyable.

"It was pretty good. I really like that atmosphere. The weight room is great also. Overall I really liked it," he said.

In his mind, there was one thing that made his visit to Florida even more memorable.

"Florida has always been my favorite school so that made the trip to the spring game even better," he said.
