2014 Receiver Lane One to Watch

For 2014 Homestead (Fla.) wide receiver Ermon Lane, the fact that he is already hearing from some college coaches is very exciting. Right now, Lane is focusing on getting better and working hard to achieve his goal of becoming a wide receiver at the next level. For these reasons, the talented wide receiver already plans on attending quite a few football camps throughout the summer.

"I've been practicing. It's been good. I'm just trying to hang in there," Ermon Lane said.

"I'm trying to improve my route running," he added.

Lane's determination to excel as a receiver is exemplified by his attempts to polish his skills on the field. Although he is still working on getting better, Lane thinks that there are some things that set him apart from other pass catchers.

"My strengths are my size and my speed," he said.

It is no surprise that college coaches are noticing the young playmaker.

"I'm hearing from a couple schools," he said.

The early interest has allowed Lane to identify the schools that he has the most interested in.

"Right now Alabama, LSU, Miami, and FSU are standing out to me. Those are the schools that I am hearing from the most," he said.

As a child, Lane had two favorite schools.

"I grew up a fan of UM and Florida," he admitted.

In the future, the two instate schools may have an advantage over other universities.

"Only time will tell," Lane said.

Despite the fact that they are one of his childhood favorites, Lane has not heard much from the Gators.

"I haven't heard from Florida yet," he said.

As time goes on, Lane plans to showcase his talents as much as he can.

"I'm planning on going to camp at Alabama, Miami, and FSU," he said.

There is no doubt that the 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver will do whatever it takes to progress as a football player. If he continues to work hard, Lane will become a hot commodity on the recruiting trail.
