While he was on campus, the local receiver learned a lot from the knowledgeable coaches.
"I got a good workout with the coaches and I got some one on one time with the coaches. They told me what I still need to work on and get better at," he said.
"They told me that they liked my performance but there were still a few small things that I should work on," he added.
After talking to the coaches, Thompson is optimistic about the future.
"They said they will offer one more receiver and that it's most likely going to be me," he said.
According to the talented receiver, playing at Florida would be a dream come true.
"I like UF a lot. That's my dream school. I would be able to stay home and I have always liked the Gators," he confessed.
For Thompson, working hard is just as important as having natural ability.
"I play fast and go hard every play. I get better as the game goes on," he said.
Thompson's work ethic is one thing that sets him apart from other receivers. Clearly, his success on the field has attracted the attention of Florida's coaches. If all goes well, Thompson will continue to hear from the Gators throughout the process.
