Sherit Knows Florida Wants Him

If there is a hole in Florida's recruiting class right now it is at the defensive end position or BUCK. Florida needs pass rushers like a fat man needs a salad and the Gators have made an impression on Tampa Hillsborough pass rushing beast Jordan Sherit about that need. Sherit spent a few moments with FOX Sports Next to talk a little about what is going on with him.

Jordan Sherit is trying to stay busy this summer and would actually like to be busier than he already is. He's taken a couple of visits to some schools that are close, but is trying to get out and see more.

"I went to Florida and South Florida," said the 6-3, 243 speed rusher about his summer visits so far. "I was supposed to see FSU last week and Miami this week but plans fell through. I don't have any plans that are definite right now, but I may visit FSU or Clemson."

He also took a spring trip up to South Bend, Indiana to visit with Notre Dame and according to Sherit; he had the coolest experience of the recruiting process.

"Probably touching the ‘Play Like a Champion Today' sign at Notre Dame," he said.

A couple of signed players are really pushing him to schools through various mediums including Twitter. But it is all good, according to Sherit.

"Kent Taylor for Florida and Josh Grady of Vanderbilt are both local guys (that are after me hard)," he said. "I have known them both for years."

In the meantime, he understands that the Florida Gators, especially head coach Will Muschamp, is a team that is serious about needing and wanting him.

"I might come back for Friday Night Lights," he said. "I like that they are recruiting me the hardest and I have developed a great relationship with Coach Muschamp."
