Florida and Tennessee meet Saturday for a big SEC Eastern division tilt and there is a lot on the line. Both teams come in undefeated and at 2-0. Both teams are ranked and neither head coach has a win against a ranked team to their name yet. Florida holds a seven game winning streak in the series, but both teams seem pretty evenly matched. It should be a fun Saturday in Knoxville.
is looking to improve on both sides of the ball after a couple of games of feeling it's way through the wins. An offense that will continue to grow under a new quarterback may be facing a bump in the road with an injury to running back Mike Gillislee
who is supposed to play but many believe will be limited.
The Gators defense seemed to wake up in the second half of last week's win and if they can play at that same level, it will be difficult for any offense to score on them. Injuries to linebacker Jelani Jenkins and cornerback Cody Riggs would have hurt a lot more a year ago, but added depth at those positions this year will allow the gators to continue on.
Tennessee comes in with a high flying offense and a passing game second to none in the conference. Can their running game do enough to keep the gator defense honest? that is a big question.
The Vols' defense has good size and is made to stop the run. They have played good pass defense so far this season but the jury is still out on the Tennessee secondary.
It all amounts to what should be an exciting game and the following is everything you need to know about the characters in thee contest and the game itself.
