Visitors Expected in the Swamp

Head coach Will Muschamp and the Florida Gators are off to a hot start at 3-0 on the season. What makes the feat even more impressive is the last two have wins have come on the road in hostile environments. This Saturday afternoon the Gators return home to the friendly atmosphere of the Swamp. Numerous prospects will be on hand as the Gators host the Wildcats.

The visitor list this weekend will be well represented with players currently committed to the Gators for the class of 2013.

Max Staver

6'6 235-pound Quarterback

Brentwood (TN) Brentwood Academy High School

The Gators were very fortunate Staver was still around as he has all the makings of a top flight signal caller. Staver has a big time arm and the legs to make things happen outside the pocket. Staver will fit in perfectly with what coach Pease asks from his quarterbacks and more importantly with what Staver brings to the table. This will be his official visit weekend to the University of Florida. Staver is one of three official visitors coming in this weekend.

Chris Thompson

6'0 170-pound Wide Receiver

Gainesville (FL) Gainesville High School

It's always good to land players in your own backyard and Thompson is sneaky good with the ball in his hands.

Ahmad Fulwood

6'4 200-pound Wide Receiver

Jacksonville (FL) Bishop Kenny High School

Pound for pound Fulwood checks in as one of the top wide outs in America in 2013 and was a huge pull for offensive coordinator Brent Pease and head coach Will Muschamp. Fulwood has the kind of game to contribute year one in Gainesville.

Caleb Brantley

6'3 310-pound Defensive Tackle

Crescent City (FL) Crescent City High School

It's hard to say the nation's 20th ranked defensive tackle is flying under the radar but that's exactly the case with Brantley. A long time Gator fan who is also doing his share of recruiting for coach Muschamp.

Jordan Sherit

6'3 245-pound Defensive End

Tampa (FL) Hillsborough Senior High School

Sherit is another four star defensive end who will bring his talents to the Swamp next year. Sherit has exactly what the staff is looking for from the Buck linebacker position.

Joey Ivie

6'4 270-pound Defensive Tackle

Dade City (FL) Pasco High School

One of the most unheralded players in all of Florida for 2013. Ivie has a rare combination of size and speed and can play inside or out at the next level but should get first crack inside.

Quinton Powell

6'2 200-pound Outside Linebacker

Daytona Beach (FL) Mainland High School

Powell was a big pick up for Will Muschamp and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. While he lacks ideal size right now he has the kind of frame Florida defensive coaches look for in the outside linebacker position. Powell is long, lean, athletic and can move extremely well. The weight will come once he gets on campus.

Keanu Neal

6'0 205-pound Safety

Bushnell (FL) South Sumter High School

Neal is another four star defensive standout from the Sunshine state to make an early pledge to the University of Florida. Neal is the total package. He has closing speed and can really support the run. Keanu Neal is a complete safety with no real weakness in his game.

Nick Washington

5'11 185-pound Safety

Jacksonville (FL) Trinity Christian Academy

Washington can play either the strong safety or free safety position. It's yet to be determined where he lines up for the Gators next season but he is very versatile. I would think he is a bit more of a pass coverage type safety but he has a high football IQ in run support.

Adam Lane

5'8 215-pound Running Back

Winter Haven (FL) Winter Haven High School

Lane is one of my favorite recruits in this class. He might be less heralded as some others in the class but don't let that fool you Gator fans. Lane has great vision, balance and sets up his blockers extremely well. Lane missed all of last season with an injury and is just now starting to hit his full gear. Lane will have a tremendous career at the University of Florida.

Marqui Hawkins

6'1 183-pounds

Columbus (GA) Carver High School

Marqui Hawkins is a two way player for Carver playing both the wide out position and defensive back. He can do multiple things on the football field but will get first crack as a wide receiver for the Gators. Hawkins is raw but has loads of potential and is a very physical player with no fear of going across the middle. Once Hawkins gets in the system and learns he has a chance to be a very good player on the offensive side of the ball.

Octavius Jackson

6'4 300-pound Offensive Tackle

Moultrie (GA) Colquitt County High School

Coming from seemingly out of nowhere Jackson was a good pick up for the Gators who were in need of offensive linemen. Jackson is very young for a high school senior and plays the all important left tackle position. Making him a little more attractive at the position is he is also left handed and very athletic. In a year that offensive linemen are at a premium this was a very solid pick up for the Gators and company.

Jacob Park

6'4 200-pound Quarterback

Goose Creek (SC) Stratford High School

Auburn, LSU, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and Florida are all showing interest to 2014 signal caller Jacob Park. Park has verbal offers from just about everyone is a big time target for next year's class. Park is in no rush and will try and get to a game at every school showing interest.

Tyler Moore

6'6 307-pound Offensive Tackle

Clearwater (FL) Countryside High School (2011)

Moore was regarded as one of the top offensive tackles in America back in 2011 during his senior season. Moore signed with Nebraska and played as a true freshman. To say his strength is his athleticism would be an understatement. Moore finishes blocks and has that nasty streak you want your offensive linemen to have. He is coming back for his second home game in the Swamp this season. Keep an eye on Tyler Moore and the Gators this weekend this would be a huge addition for the Gators and might not last much longer.

Jalen Ramsey

6'0 190-pound Cornerback

Brentwood (TN) Brentwood Academy High School

Ramsey is currently ranked as the fourth best corner in America according to Ramsey is a true cover corner in every sense of the word. He has great size, ball skills and changes directions extremely well. Ramsey also can go up and get the ball and take it away from the wide receivers. Ramsey announced for USC and holds offers from every major program in the country. He is also a teammate of quarterback Max Staver and they two are very close as they will both make their official visit to the University of Florida this weekend.

Greg Gilmore

6'4 285-pound Defensive Tackle

Hope Mills (NC) South View High School

Gilmore continues the trend of top tier high school football players to come from the state of North Carolina. Gilmore attended camps at Florida, Alabama and LSU. Right now LSU is the team to beat and the Gators have work to do this weekend to become a serious contender. Gilmore, while having LSU as the leader seems very open minded about the possibility of playing for the Gators. Will Muschamp and crew will have a much better understanding of where things sit for Greg Gilmore and his family after this weekend. Gilmore joins Ramsey and Staver as the third official visitor this weekend as the Gators host Kentucky.

A few players to keep an eye on if you are heading to the game this weekend would be 2015 standout George Campbell, 2014 linebacker Delvin Purifoy, 2014 offensive linemen Corey Martinez and 2014 quarterback Wade Freebeck.

Players not expected in this weekend are Daniel McMillan (Heading to homecoming dance), 2014 Cornerback Duke Dawson, 2014 offensive linemen K.C. McDermott, 2014 Cornerback D.J. Smith (Clemson/Florida State), 2014 wide receiver Jacob McCrary (Clemson/Florida State), 2014 wide receiver Ryeshene Bronson, 2014 running back Tony James, 2014 athlete Kendall Randolph, 2014 wide receiver Adly Enoicy, 2014 outside linebacker Richard Yeargin and 2014 quarterback Drew Barker.

2014 quarterback Will Grier and 2014 offensive linemen Garrett Brumfield will visit the University of Florida as the Gators play host to LSU.
