Gators in the NFL: Week Four

Percy Harvin continued to prove that he is one of the most electric players in the NFL during the fourth week of the season. There were 19 former Gators active in the NFL and nine of them started for their pro team.

Percy Harvin was again the most productive former Florida player. He had three rushes for 12 yards and three catches for 22 yards, but his impact came on the first play of the game for the Minnesota Vikings. Harvin returned The Opening kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown to start the game.

Major Wright continued his strong play in the early season. He started at safety for the Chicago Bears and recorded five tackles, two pass breakups and two interceptions in a win on Monday Night Football.

Reggie Nelson started at free safety for the Cincinnati Bengals and made five tackles, including one for a loss. Carlos Dunlap saw time off the bench for the Bengals and made two tackles, including a sack for a six-yard loss.

Brandon Spikes started at linebacker for the New England Patriots and made seven tackles, a pass deflection and forced a fumble. Jermaine Cunningham also saw time at linebacker and made one tackle.

Jeremy Mincey started at defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars and made five tackles, one tackle for a loss, a pass deflection and forced two fumbles.

Will Hill saw time at safety after the starter was injured and made three tackles and broke up one pass for the New York Giants.

Tim Tebow saw time at quarterback and threw one pass for nine yards. He added two rushes and one special teams tackle for the New York Jets.

Ray McDonald started at defensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers and made two tackles and deflected a pass.

Deonte Thompson returned three kickoffs for 68 yards with a long of 25 for the Baltimore Ravens.

Ahmad Black saw time at safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and made two tackles.

Louis Murphy saw time at wide receiver and made one catch for eight yards for the Carolina Panthers.

Andre Caldwell got on the field at wide receiver for the Denver Broncos and had one rush for 14 yards.

Mike Pouncey started at center for the Miami Dolphins. Cooper Carlisle started at left guard for the Oakland Raiders. Maurice Hurt saw action at guard and tackle for the Washington Redskins.
