"My season's been going pretty well individually," Rothenberg said. "As a team we finished .500 and are playing Citrus High in a bowl game this Thursday."
Rothenberg, 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, says he has 12 catches for 130 yards this season. He talked about the recruiting process some.
"I visited coach Ford at UAlbany this summer and also checked out Furman and Wofford when I went to their camps," he said. "I'm looking to play at Albany and a couple other schools are getting involved like Valporiso and FAMU."
The standout tight end prospect, hoping to earn offers from those schools, talked about what he'll be looking for when choosing a school.
"First you got to realize you'll be living there for the next four years, so having family around definitely helps," he said. "And you have to get acquainted to the area. Second off, you have to see what the school offers academically. For me whichever offers the strongest in criminal justice could be a big factor, and what connections alumni have in the work force also is a factor. Third, I'm going to see which coach believes in me the most and what program is stable and is geared to win in these next few years. The coach is a really big deal to me."
