Two Early In State Offers In

The talent pool in Mississippi appears to be pretty strong for the 2014 signing class. One of the most athletic big men in the class, Tyler Putman, of DeSoto Central has already pocketed a pair of college offers. With interest in several programs around the SEC. Putman is eager to learn what his his options will be once he is officially on the clock.

"I feel like we did okay this season, but we could have done better," said Putman of his junior campaign. "I know next year we're going to go out there and do our thing.

"I feel like I played pretty good this year, but I am going to work even harder to get ready for next year."

Putman recently traded in his football cleats for a pair of high tops as part of the DeSoto Central basketball team.

Football appears to be the 6-5, 253 pounder's ticket to the next level.

"I have offers right now from Mississippi State and Ole Miss," said Putman. "I have been to their games this year and I like both of them.

"They play in a good conference and it's not too far from home.

"I am interested in both of them, Auburn and Florida."

The 6A standout reports that he is eager to learn more about his options and the recruiting process.

As things stand now, Putman has a good idea about the type of program he wants to be a part of on the next level.

"I want to go somewhere that takes care of their players," said Putman. "I want to have good coaches and good academics.

"I want to be part of a good team and get my education."
