Trip Report - Na'Ty Rodgers

Na'Ty Rodgers isn't a big fan of heights. So when he was on his official visit to Washington his past weekend, the Huskies took him to the one place he probably didn't want to go, but the 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive lineman from Maryland - the son of former UW DL Tyrone Rodgers - made the best of an awkward situation and still had a great time on his trip.

"They took me to the Space Needle," he told Sunday with a laugh as he was getting ready to go back home. "I stood in the back of the elevator so I didn't have to be close to the windows."

Rodgers added that he did get a little ribbing from the other recruits and players during their lunch up in the sky, but added it wasn't all that bad.

So what was good on the trip? "The coaching staff and being around the players," Rodgers said. Dexter Charles was his UW player host.

Was there anything new about the Huskies that he learned? "I've been up here a number of times but I had never seen the campus," Rodgers said. Overall he gave his official visit an '8.5-9'.

Rodgers did not make a verbal commitment to Washington and has not made a decision to commit to any school yet. "I just want to take my time and make sure I see the schools that I really want to see…make sure I take my time," he said, adding that he expects to still take official visits to Maryland and Nebraska. "That's where I have to live the next four years of my life."

When asked for a leader in the recruiting process, Rodgers said he has a top-3 of Washington, Maryland and South Carolina - in no particular order.

And yes, he does have a window seat on his flight back to Maryland.
