"We finished in the top 10 or top 5 and that was great for us," Florida's top interior lineman said post0game. "There is nothing to do but go up the ladder for this team next year and it will be fun to watch."
He believes the defense has enough key ingredients coming back even though he and fellow junior Matt Elam will be jumping to the next level. He also looks for the offense to make great strides.
"I see a great defense… it is just how they play," Floyd said of the 2013 Florida team. "The offense is going to rebuild and add to what they can do. They will finally have some consistency in their coaches. They will have the number one offense and defense in the country, I wouldn't be surprised."
Floyd likes the make up of the defensive line next year and some young guys that played in 2012 will play a prominent role again next year. He also says junior Ronald Powell, who redshirted due to injury will be one to really watch in 2013.
"Ronald Powell, our whole d-line, that is just the way it is," Floyd said. "We have Jonathan Bullard and Dante Fowler and they will work to keep this team together. They will work on the things they need to do to be the dominant team they need to be."
"(Powell) is one of the more dominant players around and that is why I am not worried about this team next year."
Floyd believes that the negative fallout from the Sugar Bowl loss won't impact next year.
"This season was fun, but it is back to the drawing board," he said. "They will prepare and get ready for another. This team is physical and that is just how we play. At the end of the day we lost and it sucked but it's the Gators and they are going to go back and get it right.
"I saw the team after the game and they aren't going to lose it."
