Brown keeping an open mind

Sunshine State defensive end Keyon Brown has four offers and plenty of big-time interest to go along with them. The 2014 standout of Hardee (Wauchula, FL) said Florida was his favorite when his recruitment got started, but he's since decided to step back and open his mind.

Keyon Brown has offers from Miami, Louisiana-Lafayette, UCF, and most recently, Pittsburgh. He's also getting a lot of serious interest from some big-time programs.

"So far I've been talking to Florida, Florida State, South Carolina, LSU, and that's about it," Brown said.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end visited Florida a few times last season. He liked the Gators early, but backed of his interest when he didn't spend much time talking to coaches on a visit, but he's not concerned about that now.

"When I started visiting more and more they started talking to me more so it's all fine now," Brown said.

Now, Brown insists he's open-minded and has no favorites. Coming up, he has plans to do some traveling to schools.

"I know I'm going to the LSU junior day and probably back to Florida State and Florida, also South Carolina probably," he said.

Brown finished his junior season with 16 sacks. He knows he can be a big contributor at the college level.

"(Coaches likes) the speed that I bring off the end, I think that's what they like mostly," he said.

"I'm fast off the edge, I have great hands and just a good motor."

The Hardee standout has plenty of time before he'll make a college decision, but he's starting to think about what he'll be looking for.

"(I want) good coaches. Playing time isn't really a big deal, location isn't really a big deal. What defense they run and the environment (are important)."

As far as the defense goes, Brown says he can fit in to a 3-4 or a 4-3 and he'll think more about specifics later. Stay tuned to FOX Sports NEXT for the latest.
