"It went real good," Reed said about his his Florida visit. "My mom, grandmom and brother got a chance to go with me. I got a chance to learn more about their coaching staff, the school, and the area."
The North Carolina product was impressed with the Gainesville area and campus.
"It was a real good site. Their fans are real into it too. It was really cool. A lot of people emphasize football around there. There are a lot of visitors that come see their campus too. A lot of people are coming in and taking pictures and things like that."
What stood out the most about Florida during the visit?
"The stadium. It was huge. They said it seats 96,000 people, and I believe it."
Where does Florida now stand?
"I'm still going to take my visits. They're still in the picture."
Ole Miss split up its coaches to see Reed in Mississippi and his mother in North Carolina before he left on the trip to Florida.
"Coach (Wesley) McGriff went to see my mother and coach (Dave) Wommack and coach (Chris) Kiffin came over here (to East MS CC) last Friday. My mom enjoyed her time with coach McGriff. She got on facetime with coach (Hugh) Freeze and she told me they had a real good conversation."
Did the Ole Miss home visit make him feel more comfortable with his commitment?
"Yes, I think it did because they sat my mom down and told her why they needed me there. She said she enjoyed getting to know their coaches better. That is big for me because I want my mom to be comfortable with my decision."
What did the Rebel coaches say to Reed about him taking other visits?
"I told them I was still committed and coach (Dave) Wommack joked around that he needed to know what I was going to do so he could start bringing in some more defensive linemen if I wasn't coming. He was just joking with me. They just told me they needed me and things like that."
Will Reed's family come with him on the rest of his official visits?
"They're going to try to. I'm going to North Carolina this weekend, Kentucky the weekend after and Ole Miss the last weekend. They want to go see them all."
This week most of the staffs will come see Reed at his school.
"Coach (Jimmy) Brumbaugh for Kentucky came by yesterday. Coach (Deke) Adams for North Carolina is coming by Thursday. Coach Barney (Farrar) said coach (Dave) Wommack and coach Kiffin were coming by here later this week. It will probably be on Friday before I leave to North Carolina. I don't know yet."
