National champs offer 2014 DL

The state of Georgia will be strong again with top football prospects in the 2014 class and one of the best has been offered by the University of Alabama.

"Kirby Smart came by school on Monday and after he left, I found out that I had an offer from Alabama," Dontavius Russell told Scout.

This is offer No. 3 for the 6-foot-3, 300 pound interior defensive lineman out of Carrollton, Ga. and he is excited about this one.

"This offer means a lot to me because they are the best team in the nation. It just feels good to know they are interested in me and it is great to have an offer from them now."

Russell does not know too much more than the obvious about Alabama yet, but he plans to soon.

"I will be going over to Alabama for their Junior Day on January 26, so I will learn more about them then."

Florida and Georgia Tech have also offered the future Scout300 prospect and many more will in the coming months.

Before visiting Alabama, Russell plans to attend Georgia Tech's Junior Day on January 20.
