MLB Sherrod Pittman Profile
First Coast High School [Jacksonville] sophomore Sherrod Pittman was the recipient of that offer from Dabo Swinney and the Clemson coaching staff.
The offer was one that Pittman had hoped to receive. It's possible that their New Year's Eve bowl win has helped Clemson become a more attractive suitor.
"I did want to get an offer from Clemson. They beat LSU and that was a good game that I saw. I was looking forward to an offer from them," Pittman told CUTigers earlier this week.
He added, "I haven't been up there yet, but I'm looking forward to going on a visit."
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect is still learning about Clemson.
"I don't really know anything about them. That [offer] is why I need to learn more about them," he said.
With Clemson now in the mix, Pittman is up to six offers -- Florida, Florida State, North Carolina, South Carolina and UCF.
Last summer, he visited South Carolina for camp. Florida and Florida State hosted him for game day visits during the fall.
"It's way too early. I'm liking everybody right now," Pittman said.
As a sophomore, he recorded 74 tackles and three sacks.
