Bower on Florida Official

Somerville (NJ) Immaculata High School standout Tashawn Bower made his official visit to the University of Florida this weekend and talked about it with

Tashawn Bower is a four star defensive end prospect checking in from Somerville (NJ) Immaculata High School. He checks in as the 22nd ranked defensive end prospect in America. At 6'5 and 235-pounds it's easy to see why schools such as Auburn, Florida, LSU, Rutgers, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech have all offered. Bower has already taken official visits to Auburn (Soft Verbal), Florida State, Florida and LSU is the 25th.

Bower left the University of Florida moments ago and talked about the experience with

"It was good I really liked it. Taking an official really helps. They have great people, facilities, campus and it's a great program and great academics. Not a lot of things you can say that are negative. I think the most important thing I saw was the weight training program people. The demonstrations they are going to do to make sure you get bigger stronger and faster and what they do gets you ready for the next level."

Numerous prospects were in town this weekend as Coach Muschamp and company close out this year's class and Bower had a chance to meet them all.

"We hung out two nights in a row and did not get crazy but still had a good time. The thing with the players is they will be honest with you no matter good or bad they are going to be honest. They want someone to be there who is happy and buying into the program."

Newly appointed defensive coordinator and the head Gator explained what next year's defense would be despite the departure of Dan Quinn.

"They wanted me to know the defense will be the same with a balance of the 3-4 and 4-3 depending on the team. They made it clear they want me and a bit of a need also."

Bower will trip to LSU on January 25th then make one last visit, unofficial back down to Auburn and make his announcement on NSD.

Each day FOXSportsNEXT took a look at the East squad's top five defensive players from practice for the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, and Bower made the cut.

Tashawn Bower, DT, Immaculata (Somerville, N.J.)

The Auburn commit was a nightmare for the offensive line to try to contain. Not only did he get to the quarterback at ease, but also stopped the running backs before they were able to get back to the line of scrimmage. He is still slowed by a sore ankle so he resorted to a bull rush in one-on-ones, but he did well in the drill.
