Tennessee (15-3, 6-0) shook off a slow start to Alabama (11-7, 1-4), scorched the nets throughout the game and put five players in double figures to snare the sixth SEC win of the season.

The game began with the entire coaching staff hugging Pat Summitt at her front row seat and then each player one by one.

The team had watched a video in pre-game about how Iraq backs Summitt. The players and coaches were in Knoxville in 2009 for a summer camp and formed a connection to the now head coach emeritus.

Amid the backdrop of "We Back Pat" shirts and purple attire, the Lady Vols took the court, got their bearings after a quick start by the Crimson Tide and ran past Alabama.

Tennessee shot 62.9 percent in the first half and 54.3 percent for the game.

One game after Isabelle Harrison and Bashaara Graves struggled offensively, they started 10-10 and scored 14 and 19 points, respectively.

Meighan Simmons added 16 points, while Jasmine Jones and Taber Spani had 14 each.

Daisha Simmons led Alabama with 19 points, while Kaneisha Horn added 14 and Shafontaye Myers notched 12 on four three-pointers.

Tennessee next plays at Vanderbilt on Thursday in Nashville.
