Thomas looking at options

Dallas center Elijah Thomas is one of the best players in 2015. Read on for his thoughts on his game, recruitment, and more.

Although Arizona has plenty of talent in its front court, it has not stopped the Arizona coaching staff from looking towards the future.

One of the high school big men the UA staff would love to sign is 6-foot-8, 240-pound 2015 Dallas Prime Prep Academy power forward Elijah Thomas.

The UA staff hoped Thomas would visit along fellow Texan Emmanuel Mudiay for the Arizona "white out" game at McKale. Unfortunately, Thomas wasn't able to make it, but that won't discourage the UA staff.

It's still early in the recruiting process, but most the nation's best programs are recruiting Thomas.

"Right now I'm interested in the schools that are interested in me," Thomas said. "The further I get along in the recruiting process, the more attention I'm getting."

Thomas is taking his recruitment one step at a time and says that there are currently no schools sticking out.

"Basically, most schools around the country are interested," he said. "I don't have any real favorites right now, but I'm looking to narrow down the list here in a little bit."

In the meantime, Thomas will continue to work on his game.

"There are a lot of things I'm working on right now," Thomas said. "Mainly I'm working on my defense, especially moving my feet and staying in front of guys and still being able to challenge the shot.

"Offensively, I'm working on always moving and finishing around the rim. I'm also working on my ball-handling and shooting, which will help me become a more well-rounded player."
